How to use Photo Sheet
Crop your photos to exact print sizes, fit as many as possible on each sheet of paper, then print. There are three steps, and your work saves as you go.
1Add photos
Click Add photos and choose one or more pictures. You can also:
- drag photos from a folder and drop them anywhere in the window, or
- copy an image and paste it with Ctrl V (⌘ V on a Mac).
Your photos appear in the library. Double-click a photo to crop it, or select it and click Crop.
Photos are opened in your browser and never uploaded.
2Crop and size
Choose a print size from the list, such as 6 × 4 in, 7 × 5 in, 10 × 15 cm or a passport size. For anything else, type your own width and height in millimetres or inches.
Portrait and Landscape switch the same size round, for example 5 × 7 to 7 × 5.
Frame your photo:
- Drag the photo to move it inside the frame.
- Scroll, pinch or use the zoom slider to zoom in.
- Press R or click Rotate to turn it 90°.
The quality badge shows how sharp the print will be. 300 ppi is ideal. Below 150 ppi it may look soft, so try zooming out or choosing a smaller size.
Set the number of copies, then click Add to sheet. To change a print later, select it on the sheet and click Edit crop.
3Arrange and print
Choose your paper size and orientation. Photo Sheet fits as many prints as it can on each sheet and adds more sheets when needed. A single print is placed in the middle of the page.
- Margin is the space around the edge of the paper. Gap is the space between prints.
- Rotate to fit turns prints sideways when that fits more on a page.
- Crop marks add small cutting guides near each corner.
- Click a print to Duplicate, Edit crop or Remove it.
- With several sheets, use the Sheets list or Page Up and Page Down to move between them.
When it looks right, click Print. All sheets print together.
Getting the size exactly right
Printers often shrink pages slightly to fit them, which spoils exact sizes like passport photos. In the print dialog:
- Choose the same paper size you picked in Photo Sheet.
- Set scale to 100% or Actual size, and turn off Fit to page.
- Turn off headers and footers.
- For photo paper, choose your printer’s photo or glossy setting for the best colour.
Check the ruler on your first print. Turn on Check ruler to print a 50 mm line at the bottom of the sheet. Measure it: if it isn’t exactly 50 mm, your printer is still scaling the page.
Cutting out your prints
Crop marks sit just outside each corner, about 2 mm away, so a slightly off cut never leaves a line on your photo. Line a ruler up between two marks and cut along it. A craft knife and metal ruler, or a paper trimmer, give the cleanest edges.

Your work is saved automatically
Everything is saved in your browser as you go, so you can refresh or come back later and carry on. Nothing is uploaded. Use Undo and Redo at the top if you change your mind.
- Start over clears your photos and prints but keeps your sheet settings. You can undo it.
- Clear session data, in the menu at the top right, permanently deletes everything Photo Sheet has stored in this browser.
Common questions
My prints come out slightly too small
Your printer is scaling the page. In the print dialog, set scale to 100% or Actual size and turn off Fit to page, then check the 50 mm ruler.
It says a photo is too large for this paper
The print doesn’t fit inside the margins. Choose a bigger paper size, reduce the margin, switch the paper orientation, or pick a smaller print size.
The quality badge says “May look soft”
The photo doesn’t have enough pixels for that print size at the current zoom. Zoom out, choose a smaller size, or use a higher-resolution copy of the photo.
Where have my photos gone?
Photos are saved only in the browser you used to add them. They won’t appear in a different browser or device, or in a private window after it is closed. Clearing your browser’s site data also removes them.
Will my passport photo be accepted?
Photo Sheet makes sure the size is exact. Official photos also have rules about background, lighting and expression, so check the current guidance from the organisation you are applying to.
